of the Working Committee of the eye, Alfian, said that since the
Commission was born, the image of the Commission in the public eye very
well. Public have hope, the Commission is a very powerful institution that can assist Indonesia in combating corruption. During its existence, the KPK also proved to be very good.
Within
the year 2011 alone, the Commission has saved the country's wealth to
Rp 159.9 trillion and return loss of the handling of corruption reached
USD 134.7 billion in 2011, and reached USD 975 billion since 2008-2011. "Such a performance is something very proud in the midst of corruption in Indonesia," said Alfian.
However,
some parties did not seem like the good performance shown by the
Commission, and therefore tried to inhibit a variety of ways. In
ways that are inhibited, for example, in the form of criminalization of
KPK, KPK investigators withdrawal by the police on the grounds that no
rational denial of the House to approve the budget of the Commission
building, and through the proposed revision of the Law Commission.
"The
actions of Bengkulu Police want to catch the KPK investigators
Commissioner Novel Baswedan on Friday, October 5th and be strong
evidence that the police themselves were allies wanted to weaken the
KPK," said Alfian.
In
this regard, Acehnese Coalition urged President Susilo Bambang
Yudhoyono's government would soon issue regulations governing the role
of synergy between the Commission, the Police, the Attorney General and
other law enforcement institutions.
"We
ask that the PP is not to be a hidden agenda to emasculate the role of
legal KPK as stipulated in the Law on the KPK," said the Aceh Human
Rights NGO Coalition Coordinator, Zulfikar Mohammed.
The
coalition also urged the House of Representatives, in particular the
Commission III, canceled a planned revision of the Law on the KPK. The
revision of public discourse is not considered part of a strong desire
to strengthen the Commission, but rather restrict the scenario to move
quickly KPK.
The
President and the House of Representatives requested to allocate
sufficient budget to support the effectiveness of the work of the
Commission in the future. The
budget is necessary not only because of the many cases examined, but
also because the cases were not only occur on the island of Java, but
also in other areas in Indonesia, which is why it requires an adequate
budget for the KPK.
The
coalition also asked the Chief of Police and the Attorney General's
enforcement constantly improving synergy in efforts to combat
corruption, both in the investigation and the investigation in
accordance with the mandate of the President. Fully
supports the Commission's work in both national and regional levels in
order to Indonesia from corruption in the coming years.
"We
also ask the Commission not to forget Aceh. Commission must immediately
resolve indications of corruption cases that had occurred in Aceh and
had some years earlier been reported to the Commission," said Alfian.
